I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. This has greatly influenced my work because I incorporate nature and the environment into almost every piece I create. I never thought I would become a photographer; I initially envisioned myself as a corporate businesswoman. However, I began taking photos at the age of 13 and fell in love with the ability to freeze a moment in time. The first subjects I ever photographed were swans. When I create my work, it's important to me to slow down, be deliberate, and take the time to think about what I am creating and what I am expressing.
