talkeetna: Berry picking
In the fall, Alaska is full of berries—blueberries, salmonberries, crowberries, lingonberries, and cranberries. While cranberries may not be the most popular berry due to their seeds and sour taste, they are a favorite in my family for the sole purpose of making cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. Without fail, my family loads up the car and drives to Talkeetna, AK, a small old prospecting town two hours outside Anchorage. We to pick a few gallons of berries and enjoy the fall colors we all love so much.
