Knee Deep In the River

Fishing for salmon in the rivers of Alaska

As soon as the river opens for fishing in summer, everyone loads up their cars and trucks and drives to the Russian to begin filling their freezers for the winter. Fishing well into the night in the midnight sun is not hard, and being knee-deep in cold water for hours is definitely an experience. This series just happened when I brought my camera with me one day to the Russian. I love to fish and take photos, so this series just made sense.

I have a deep love for nature and want to keep the outdoor accessible for all. So this project is about fishing but also making sure we still have fish in our rivers and our wild places stay wild and undeveloped.
